Pathway Home Light Wool Scarf

In her Pathway Home Light Wool Scarf, Michelle Lowden (Acoma Pueblo) tells the story of a path that always guides one back home. The center of Lowden's design depicts four three-story homes (traditional Acoma architecture), while the triangles represent mountains and an oval pattern is shown as wild flowers.

Michelle draws inspiration from her homeland. Her process begins with an exploration of nature, especially colors, as well as natural ingredients and how they blend. Her designs are also influenced by Acoma Pueblo pottery and traditional regalia. Reflecting the disconnect experienced during the pandemic, Michelle hopes that this scarf brings comfort and warmth especially to those who are missing home and being in ceremony.
